DON’T ASSUME WHAT PEOPLE ALREADY KNOW FOR THEMSELVES.

 

There is a belief that if you only have a website, then all your online needs can be solved.  …But nobody is looking!

 

 You can spend a lot of time and money on an advertising campaign. Companies will pay designers big bucks for fancy colors, animation, intricate graphics with charts and carefully edited copy. Despite these investments, you might be missing the point with your prospective customers and they miss your message entirely.

 

I try to take some time in the morning to compose my thoughts.  Sunshine, birdcalls, and trees provide a focus away from the bustle of the Online Business world. The plants grow in reaction to the light and moisture. The birds stake out territory rising to the top of the canopy and sing their hearts out.

 

What the deer do, I can only assume. Grazing, resting, and moving through the forest, usually I only have their tracks to follow their movements. Today a deer came from the left across my view. 50 feet or so in front of me, she stopped. Unfortunately, the gentle breeze come from my back.

 

While she was bobbing her head for a better view, I froze. A foot stomp or two, and she turned, bouncing away for a short, fake dash. Since I didn’t follow, she snorted. Sure enough, she jumped away.

 

Certain things I can guess so far. Since I had not determined doe or buck (no antlers at this time), I figured the snorting was a buck thing. The deer was trying to establish territory. I was wrong. Picture your message online in Social Media appearing to the perspective customer. You might guess wrong about what they like or don’t like.

 

Following the patterns of general behavior is definitely different from reviewing Insights and other analytics. The numbers are often different from assumptions.

 

 

However, rather than trying to guess how many people see your ad in the newspaper, on flyers, or the yellow pages Online Marketing will give you exactly how many people were exposed to your message-or even who Likes, Comments, and Shares.

 

My assumptions about the doe changed when two deer following her appeared one at a time. The stomping and the snorting were NOT a challenge to me; they were a signal to the younger deer who had probably stayed with mom for almost 2 years.

SEND A TEXT WITH A WEB APP LINK.

WHAT IS A WEB APP?

 

There is a belief that if you only have a website, then all your online needs can be solved.  …But nobody is looking!

 

 OK you sent an email that explains exactly what you want to say to make your point. Several paragraphs with a full explanation of all of the options. You sure made your argument.

 

There is only one problem, the person you sent this email to doesn’t read it. Maybe they only read the first part, or they skim to the end. Making your reader work to understand your point drains the energy out of their interest in what you spent so much time preparing.

 

There is a better way to communicate your idea, provide graphic  support, and redirect your reader’s attention to the point you want to make.  That means greater productivity for in-house work and better chances for a sale with potential customers.

 

In the modern online world, reader attention spans have shrunk to less than 5 seconds. Preparing video for viewing on Social Media shows that 15 seconds is forever in the length of time for a video that shows up in the Newsfeed. That potential Customer flies past the video, maybe even with a false promise to watch it later.

LONG-TERM SOCIAL MEDIA REQUIRES AN ACTION PLAN.

 

Online Marketing or Local Marketing you need to interact with your Customers, MORE than just catching their attention!

 

A Social Media Action Plan is more than just throwing money at advertising. I remember seeing the Yellow Pages sales rep come in the door of the Internet Café. He announced that everyone would be able to find me. My major decision would be in which category to list my business.

 

So how often are there changes made to the yellow pages ad? Once a year, with some excitement at first, “what to include” “how much more information can we fit”, and a few other questions. Then with each passing year, it just kind of lays there waiting for somebody to flip to the page.

 

Nobody looks there anymore. Since your business does not have a tv or radio budget, how or why will anyone find your business services? They simply will NOT take the time, so they ask somebody.

 

Even online, you find the same behavior. If someone is looking for Services or Products to buy, they ask somebody. That recommendation or referral is the place to start and end the search that might come across your business.

 

On Facebook, where they ask first, the Customer starts their search with a quick post on their Wall. Going deeper, they post a question on a Group page. NO TIME TO BLOG,

ONLY TO RECORD FEELINGS.

 

There is a belief that if you only have a website, then all your online needs can be solved.  …But nobody is looking!

 

TRUE LOVE means that you will live anywhere, anytime, anyway with that one person.

 

I discovered that this was not true. Rather than a feeling, Love became a hollow, dangerous force, while lacking sincerity the whole time.

Destruction means the loss of something you felt, not only as a possession, but also as a part of life that suddenly exists only in the past. What should have been a positive, living organism is now a memory placed into a clear vase and set on a shelf in full view of your favorite direction.

 

“Wake up and greet another day” becomes a delayed form of justification, a crutch to make it through another day until something drives those thoughts far from current thought.

 

The drive that kicks in, progresses the day into accomplishment. Daily success reaffirms the decision to locate. Sorry you are gone, you missed it, but you weren’t supposed to be here in the first place and you are happier where you are. Investigation continues.

 

When you think of dedication and devotion, think about whether growth with somebody else is building or limiting your goals and ideals--before you limit their hopes and dreams. The reluctance to expand goes both ways and the inevitable failure to compromise lies at the heart of the destruction.

 

The pure excitement of something new fades under the constant pressure of friends, family and society. Conform or be banished to the furthest reaches of the deserted lands. Live, think, breathe in the regular timing of what the reference section defines.

 

The new life is always out there. Constant change is the very nature of the Universe. Nothing creative comes out of rigid pattern. Now back to thought and enjoyment.
